U.S. Bank is putting $250,000 behind GENYOUth’s NFL FLAG-In-School programme, using its NFL relationship to bring flag football and financial education into more schools and communities.

  • U.S. Bank has announced a $250,000 partnership with GENYOUth, in collaboration with the NFL, aimed at expanding access to flag football for young people across the US. The investment will support GENYOUth’s NFL FLAG-In-School programme, supplying schools with equipment kits, standards-aligned curriculum and digital resources that can be used in physical education classes, after-school programmes and community activities. The first focus markets are Los Angeles, San Francisco and the Twin Cities, with additional activations planned throughout the 2026-27 NFL season.
  • The partnership kicked off at the NFL Flag Championships in Westfield, Indiana, where U.S. Bank hosted athletes and families through its Family Lounge. Alongside the football activation, the bank brought financial education into the programme through up to 72 youth-friendly learning modules, including topics such as saving money and starting to invest. It gives U.S. Bank a natural way to connect its core business with an activation built around younger athletes and their families.
  • “By partnering with GENYOUth and its NFL FLAG-In-School program, we’re providing access for even more kids and their families to not only play flag football but to be part of the community through sport,” said Greg Cunningham, Chief Community Impact and Inclusion Officer at U.S. Bank. The partnership also builds on U.S. Bank’s existing multiyear relationship with the NFL as an official bank and wealth management sponsor, giving the bank another activation layer around its league-level sponsorship.
  • There is serious scale behind the programme already. GENYOUth and the NFL have brought flag football to more than 17 million students, distributing kits across over 40,000 school communities, while GENYOUth itself has supported more than 77,000 US schools. The sport is also heading into a much bigger global spotlight, with flag football scheduled to make its Olympic debut at Los Angeles 2028, making grassroots participation an increasingly valuable piece of the wider football ecosystem.
